MONTHLY MEETING Owing to inclement weather the attendance at the June meeting of the Motueka Women’s Institute was not as large as usual The meeting was presided over by the president, Mrs J. O. Anderson who read the motto for the month : 'He labours in vain who tries to please all ” The roll-call—rhymes on members’ names—proved very amusing and entertaining Five new members were enrolled. A: very interesting travel talk was given by Mrs Pond, who was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. The monthly mystery parcel was won by Mrs Anderson. Competitions and resuits were: Best bloom, Mrs J. Brown Catn P best head of flowers. ' 1. Mrs Richards 2: best spray 1. Mrs Richards 2: eggles.Mrs Camp I. Mrs Low 2. tea was served by the hosMesdames Cowin, G. Manifold and Miss Larkin.
