TO TAKE UP DUTIES FOR BRITISH AGENCY (N.Z.E.F, Official News Service) _ . Cairo June 22. Lieut. C. E Beamish, formerly Offl. cial War Correspondent with the 2nd N.Z.E.F.. has been discharged at his own request to take up a post as war correspondent for the London Ex. change-Telegraph Agency. Lieutenant Beamish, who left New Zealand as a machine-gun officer, became war cor. respondent a few months after he ar. r j vcd in Egypt. He is to be the Ex. change-Telegraph Agency's correspondent in the Middle East, both with tho Army and Navy. For twelve years Lieut. During the 1941 Libyan campaign many of Lieut. Beamish’s dispatches from Sidi Rezegh were widely published, both in England and Africa and broadcast over the 8.8 C.
