SUCCESSFUL PATRIOTIC EFFORT AT WIIANGAREI Wliangarei, This Day. As a result of a “Fighting Forces Mother” campaign to raise the Whangarei and district contribution to the patriotic fund, £10,671 was announced last night, when the successful candidate, Mrs Hill, representing the Army, was crowned. Mrs Woods. Air Force Mother, was run-ner-up The campaign has been waged enthusiastically from the outset five months ago.—P.A
