SALVAGE OF CRASHED PLANE
SUCCESSFUL USE OF BULLDOZER Dunedin, Feb. 8. Successful salvage operations have been carried out on the airliner Kuaka. which crashed on the slopes of Flagstaff Hill on Friday. A bulldozer was used to clear a track to the nearest roadway, and the machine was dismantled and the engines removed to hangars. The fuselage was raised on its landing wheels, and with the wings was eased downhill by the bulldozer and taken to the'airport. All repairs will be made at the company’s local hangars. ■The manager of the Union Company, Mr G. F. Booth, described the salvage as a magnificent job.—P-A.
