CONFERENCE AT ALGIERS
MR CHURCHILL AND GENERAL EISENHOWER (Rec. 9.50 a.m.) Rugby, Feb. 8. Mr Churchill on his way home stopped at Allied headquarters in Algiers, where he conferred with Gen. Eisenhower, Mr Harold McMillan, Minister Resident in North Africa, and others. Bad weather delayed Mr Churchill’s departure. He stayed the night at Admiral Cunningham’s villa and was present at a small luncheon party attended by Gen. Eisenhower and Gen. Giraud. Mr Churchill’s visit was known only to a few. —8.0. W.
