AN EARLY STATEMENT Wellington, Nov, 3, So that people would know as early as possible where they stood regarding their Christmas holidays, he had asked the general manager of Railways, Mr E. Casey, to make a statement shortly on the likely rail travel position during the holiday period, said the Minister*©! Railways. Mr R. Semple. The Minister said that last year, owing to the war situation, restrictions had to be imposed with hardly any warning, but this year it was desired to let people know the position well in advance.—P.A.
