WOMEN’S DIVISION OF FARMERS’ UNION
MOTUPIPI BRANCH There was a fair attendance at a meeting of the Motupipi Women’s Division, presided over by Mrs Humphreys. It was agreed to hold a garden party in February to aid the W.D. funds. The roll call ‘ The nicest thing I ever heard” brought interesting and amusing answers. It was decided to send a letter of sympathy to Mrs C. Manson. Members stood as a mark of respect to the memory of the late Mrs Gibbs. The roll call for next month is a seasonal one —‘‘A spring-cleaning hint.” Mrs Forman will provide the competition while Miss Winter will he hostess. Competition winners for October were: Best bloom, Mrs A. Manson: best shrub, Mrs A. Manson and Mrs Robertson tied for Ist place: special competition, Mrs Humphreys. The bring and buy stall brought in 18s 9d which together with the amount raised by a mystery parcel brought the donation to the Leper Fund to £2. A dainty supper brought the meeting to a close.
