FOOD RUSHED TO HONAN
PROMPT STEPS TO AMELIORATE FAMINE (Rec. 11.7 a.m.) London, Oct. 22. The Chinese Government reports that prompt measures have been taken to ameliorate famine in the Honan province. At total of 35 per cent, of the grain tax payable has been remitted and food is being rushed from neighbouring provinces where the harvest is good.—P.A. It was reported earlier in the week that famine was raging in the Honan province of China.
