GERMANY’S LATEST FIGHTER AIRCRAFT CAPTURED MACHINE TESTED Rugby, Aug. 10. Full information regarding Germany’s newest fighter Focke Wulf 190 is now available to the R.A.F., the machine recently captured having been tested. The top speed is 375 at 18,000 feet and it has a cruising speed of 325 at 45.000 feet. Its best climbing performance is 3280 feet a minute at 17,500 feet, and 3050 at 4000 feet. The armament consists of four twenty-mil-limetre cannon, two of the inner ones being synchronised to shoot through the airscrews, and two 7.92 millimetre machine-guns. The wingspread is 34 feet 5 inches and length 29 feet 4 inches, and the loaded weight is 8580 pounds. The fact that so many of its secrets are now known will make it easier to meet in battle. —8.0.
