PROSPECT OF FURTHER RAIN Wellington. This day. The forecast is for moderate north - westerly winds; weather mainly fair but occasional showers in the west: temperatures moderate; further outlook cloudy with a period of rain likely. Very heavy rain fell yesterday evening and last night and by 9.30 this morning 1.10 inches had been recorded. The weather cleared early this morning and the sun shone brightly. Temperatures were mild and the day was calm. There was no sunshine in Nelson yesterday.
