THE MOSCOW FRONT
VIOLENT BATTLES RAGING (Rec l -1 15 p.m.) London, Aug. 10. Vichy radio declared that violent battles are raging west and north-west of Moscow, where the Russians engaged large German forces in the hope of relieving the pressure on the southern front.
IN THE CAUCASUS
A German communique claims that the Germars captured Pyatigorsk. Berlin radio reported that Rumanian cavalry took the town of Yeisk. —P.A.
