HEINKEL CRASHES ON HOSTEL
CREW BURNT TO DEATH (Rec. 12.15 p.m.) London. Aug. 10 Eighteen wardens received burns when a Heinkel last night crashed on a south coast hostel setting fire to neighbouring buildings with a load of phosphorus bombs. The Heinkel’s crew of five were burned to death. Nearby streets were strewn with ammunition f rom the plane, and several other civil defence personnel were treated in hoso;tal for burns after touching parts of the plane which was covered with phosphorus —P.A.
