PRIMARY SCHOOL RUGBY
TOURNAMENT CANCELLED The Seddon Shield Districts’ Primary Schools’ Rugby tournament, which was to have been played at Motueka during the coming school holidays, has been cancelled on account of transport and petrol restrictions. The Golden BayMotueka Union has advised the other unions concerned to that effect. The school teams in the Nelson Union’s area have played their usual games, including the annual Town v. Country match. The representative team had been selected, and so naturally the boys were disappointed that war conditions had made the tourna ment impossible. However the Nelson Union is endeavouring to arrange a match for the schools’ representative team, which has been selected as follows: — Ross (Auck. Pt.), Nesbit( Cent.). Byrne (Auck. Pt.).
