JAPANESE POSITIONS BOMBED CHINESE RECAPTURE HU WAN (Rec. 1.55 p.m.) Chungking, Aug. 9. Americans again bombed Japanese positions outside Linchwan. causing heavy casualties, while Chinese recaptured the charred suburb of Hu wan. which the Japanese fired before their retreat. The Chinese at present are attacking many points at Linchwan. aiming to cut off the Japanese retreat.—P.A.
