TREMENDOUS LOSSES DISCLOSED New York, Aug. 8. A message from Philadelphia state! that Mr Howard McKenzie, vicepresident of the National Maritime Union, addressing the council of the union, disclosed that more than 3000 out of 50,000 union members had been killed since the war. He added: “The loss of merchant seamen exceeds hitherto the losses of all the American armed forces.” —P.A.
