FINAL £3OOO
THIS WEEK’S PATRIOTIC APPEAL The Nelson Patriotic Committee met this morning to further the appeal now being made to raise the further £3OOO necessary to attain the Nelson City quota of £15.000. Provided this figure can be reached, the chairman stated, no further appeal will be made in 1942. It was announced that, during each afternoon this week, the ladies will be selling patriotic coupons in the streets ably assisted by Mr Gould, who will be selling from his caravan. On Friday next an all-day street appeal Has been arranged and. with the assistance of a willing band of helpers, supported by an enthusiastic committee, no stone is to be left unturned to find means of helping in the great cause which is now the immediate concern of i*l within the Dominion. It is unnecessary, the chairman stated. to stress the urgency of the call and he confidently anticipated that the generosity of the Nelson citizens would again be in evidence during the next few days.
