NAZI OIL SUPPLIES
SHORTAGE BELIEVED TO HAVE BEGUN Rugby, .Tune 11. Regarding oil supplies for Germany, it is thought likely in London that if there are sufficient supplies for this year’s campaigns, it will only be at the cost of cutting them down for industry. Germany is now increasingly dependent on synthetic oil, and recent reports suggest that Rumanian production has decreased from about 6,000,000 to about 5,500,000 tons annually'. It is estimated that about one-third of the German oil consumption is now synthetic and the production of synthetic oil which, incidentally, is carried on within range of British aircraft, is highly uneconomical of manpower.—B.O.W.
