DEATH DURING E.P.S. TEST

RETIRED MASTER-MARINER Christchurch, This Day. Captain Charles Janies Kerr died at the E.P.S. central reporting point last evening shortly after he had arrived to serve as the driver of a car in the messenger section. Captain Kerr was a reined master mariner. He served on sailing ships in his youth, rising t«> the position of chief officer. Afterwards he was master of a tramp steamer till he established a stevedoring business in the Philippines. When he came to New Zealand, he settled at Geraldine, where ht farmed until his retirement to Christchurch. —P.A
