AMERICAN FORCES
ENTERTAINMENT PLANS Auckland, April 29.' Arrangements for the entertainment of American servicemen, should they i come tp Auckland, were discussed yes- i terday at a meeting of representatives! cV the numerous Auckland organisa- ■ tions which at present entertain New I Zealand and visiting members of the Allied forces. The Mayor. Mr J. A. C. Allum. who convened the meeting, said later that it had been decided as a matter of policy that Americans should be entertained on exactly equal terms with New Zealanders. All the organisations undertook to do this : n their present pre_ raises and with their present facilities. Mr Allum said that if Americans] came to Auckland in large numbers it j was probable that the organisations] v. ould need considerable help. He was j confident that this would be forthcoming.— P.A.
