COMMAND OF A BRIGADE
LIEUT.—COLONEL DITTMER, D.S.O. The appointment is announced of Lieutenant-Colonel G Dittmer. D.SO.. M.C , M B E., to the command of one of the brigade groups in the Northern Military District. He succeeds Brigadier R. A Row. D S 0., who recently received an appointment overseas, and takes over from Lieutenant-Colonel D. T Wood O B E.. who has been temporarily in command and now returns to command a Northern Military District lifiht armoured fighting vehicle regiment Lieutenant-Colonel Dittmer recently returned to New Zealand frenn the Middle East, where he commanded the Maori Battalion and was awarded the D.SO for conspicuous gallantry He is wei! known in Auckland, having been area stufl officer at the outbreak of war and until his appointment to command the Maori Battalion.
