THE LMVJRSITY COLLEGES The Canterbury University College proposal that the Teachers’ Conscientious Objectors and Defaulters Regulations. 1941, should be amended so as to apply to teaching staff- of the university colleges was opposed by the Victoria University College Council on the grounds that it would involve improper interference with the autonomy of the college and that matters of the kind should be dealt with by the governing authorities of the colleges under the powers already possessed by them. .
