CHINESE SOLICITOR
The question whether a Chinese solicitor who was unfit for Army service could serve the community better in his civilian capacity than as a clerk in the Air Force came before the Auckland Area Manpower Committee when it heard an appeal by Henry Ah Kew. After hearing appellant’s evidence the committee decided that he should remain in his civilian capacity. When he was called Cor overseas service he did not appeal, but was graded unlit for any Army services, said appellant. He had since been called to carry out clerical duties in the Air Force.
