Mr Menzies has not been openly as sociated with the campaign, blit it 1 said that the canvass of the rank am lile members of the U.A.P. has been o such a nature that the sponsors mus have had an assurance that Mr Men zies would again be willing to assuim the leadership of the U.A.P. Those op posed to Mr Hughes and Mr Faddci base their case on the claim that Ur Opposition parties Irave carried thei ec-operation with the Government to< far and are ignoring obvious oppor tunities to attack the Government’ policy. Some political observers believe i Mr Mcnzies were to recapture the lead ership of tlic Opposition a number o U.A.P. supporters would transfer to 111 ci oss benches.— P.A.
