MEETING OF CITY COMMITTEE : APPEAL TO BE LAUNCHED IN MARCH : At the weekly meeting of the Nelson j [City Patriotic Con .rolling Committee; i held last evening the following were I [present: Mr A. H. Crawley (chairman),, Mrs H. Atmore, Miss Hunter Brown. 1 ! Messrs C. C. Challies, A. B. Kidson, J. : A. Hailey. C. A. Hamilton and F. V. 1 ; Powell (hon. secretary). An apology was received from Mr J. G. Ingram. Mr F. Mitchell, hon. secretary of the [Nelson Provincial Council, attended the | meeting and clarified a number of 1 points in connection with the issue of j official receipts, and made several suggestions in connection with the forth- ; coming £15,000 appeal. PATRIOTIC SHOP | It was decided to s"id a letter of 'appreciation to the Catholic Women’s ; Guild for their successful efforts in 'stocking the patriotic shop last Thursi day. The shop will be in charge of the ! Methodist Women’s Guild to-morrow. £15,000 APPEAL It was decided that the launching of the £15.000 appeal be expedited and that the appeal take effect not later than the last week in March. A letter was received from the Ministers’ Association expressing appreciation of the deputation from the Patriotic Committee and offering their full support. A copy of a resolution carried unanimously by the Ministers’ Association was also received and read as follows: ‘That appreciation of the deputation’s visit and of the principles and details of operation of the appeal for the Patriotic Fund, be heartily expressed and that the association pledge its utmost practical support to the appeal.” It was decided that a copy of the resolution be sent to the Women’s War Service Association* who are organising the appeal. j An application from Mrs J.
