(To the Editor I Sir, —In the issue of "The Mail" of 13th February a correspondent. “Mr Standfast," states that it is preferable to think that the Australian and New Zca land critics of the British Government have no racial affinity with England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland. One need only to turn back the pages of history to the days immediately preceding the Great War 1914 18 where it will be found that Sir James Craig, later Lord Craigavon, first Premier of Northern Ireland and Sir Edward Carson. set up a provisional government in Belfast in opposition to the King’s Government, imported arms from Germany and threatened resistance to the King’s troops. —I am, etc., it.
