MAORI TRAGEDY
WOMAN KILLED STEPFATHER IN HOSPITAL Hamilton, Feb. 15. A young Maori woman. Mrs Rita Emery, aged 20, was killed and her stepfather, Joe Kino, aged 35. was taken to the Waikato Hospital following a tragic occurrence at Otorohanga oi> Friday night. The body of the woman was recovered by the police in rough country two miles outside the Otorohanga townhsip. Severe head injuries had
been suffered. The condition of Kino, who was admitted to hospital suffering from lacerations to the throat, is not serious. Inspector G. B. Edwards and Detec-tive-Sergeant W. Murray, of Hamilton, took charge of inquiries.—P.A.
