EXPRESS DELAYED
CAR CRASHES INTO CUTTING New Plymouth, Jan. 23. The Wellington-New Plymouth express train was delayed to-night when the line was blocked near Lepperton by a car driven by Mr E. R. Marshall, veterinary surgeon, Hawera. which left the road and crashed about 30 feet into a cutting To clear the line it was necessary to bring a locomotive from Waitara and tyaul the car about 200 yards. Mr Marshall, who was the only occupant of the car, received a broken collarbone broken ribs, and concussion, and was taken to New Plymouth Hospital.—P.A.
