EXTRAORDINARY MEETING OF COUNCIL Wellington, This Day. An extraordinary general meeting of the Dominion Council of the New Zealand R.S.A, was opened by the Mayor, Mr Hi lop. Delegates were ! welcomed by the president, the Hon. !W. Perry. The Director of National j Service. Mr J. S. Hunter, was also pre- ; sent and in committee addressed the ! gathering on the subject of the treat- ; ment ol conscientious objectors and : answered questions. The Defence Minister, Mr F. Jones, j iu an address gave an assurance that j the R.S.A. could rely on the Govern--1 merit’s help for the men who were doing so much for the country overseas. ! Tiie Rehabilitation Act was largely an j empowering measure and with the experience of the past; it was hoped to ' bring down something that would prove satisfactory to all returned men.—P.A
