CLUB COMPETITIONS BROOKLYN DEFEAT MOTUEKA The match in the Motueka Cricket Association’s Club competitions between Brooklyn and Motueka was concluded at Brooklyn on Saturday in favour of the former by an innings and fiU runs. At the close of play on the previous week Motueka had three wickets down for 48 and on resuming carried their innings to 72. E. Ryder 18 and A. Kelly 12 were the best individual scores. IL Burrows took four wickets for 18 and N. Holyoake two for 6. Following on, Motueka made 107 Of this total T Thorp contributed 34 and R. Taylor 26. S. WIN FOR lUWAKA At Upper Moutere Riwaka defeated the local team by 68 runs. Moutere lee on the first innings by 24 runs, but on continuing on Saturday Riwaka gained the decision by scoring 146 runs against Moutere’s 54. For Riwaka R. Cederman contributed 34, C. Askew 27, and J. Inglis 25. In the bowling N. Young (Moutere) collected four wickets for 17. V. Eggers 16 and W. Sigglekow 10 were the best of the Moutere bats, while of the Riwaka bowlers H.
