SOLICITORS’ TRUST ACCOUNT
' | AMENDMENTS TO REGULATIONS d SOUGHT cl For some time a joint committee of r representatives of the New Zealand s Law Society and the New Zealand So,l ciety of Accountants has been working on amendments to regulations governk ing the audit of solicitors’ trust accounts. At a recent meeting of the s council of the Society of Accountants members expressed a hope that finality :t would be reached within a measurable a future. It .was agreed that the joint d committee should have power to fix the h points at issue, so that the dispatch of k the final draft to the Government ;s authorities could be hastened, n It was remarked that the main need k was a simplification rather than an c . amplification of the regulations. There was a danger that a regulation, which might seem simple at first Fight, could prove complex and troublesome under L! working conditions.
