FULL USE OF LABOUR AND RESOURCES Melbourne, Oct. 22. ■ The Government will not be satis- ! fied till the whole of the unemployed ! who are physically fit have been put to work and all labour resources are i used to best advantage, the Prime Minister, Mr Curtin, said to-day after I a meeting of the War Cabinet. Through control of investment the Government will cause more of the labour and resources now employed lin the production of non-essential ; goods to be transferred to the production of war goods. In wav the war effort will be expedited without disturbing the living standard of the basic wage earner. All persons with surplus incomes not required to meet the basic needs *•of a reasonable standard of living n could, with profit to themselves and ' the community, place these surpluses e at the disposal of the Government. The financial plan would be designed to tap n those surplus incomes, but there was il much that people could do voluntarily. >- —U.P.A. c\
