ORDER FOR WARPLANES
AWARDED TO CANADA «Rec. 9.50 a.m.) Ottawa, Aug. 6 The Munitions Minister, Mr Howe announced new orders for upwards ol 1000 warplanes were about to be awardI to Canadian factories approximating 25.000,000 dollars, bringing the total tc about 60.000.000. The Canadian Press says the destination of the planes was not revealec but unconfirmed reports indicate that the United States may purchase them and send them to China and the Neth erlands East Indies under the Lend or Lease Bill.—U.P.A. TREATMENT OI AMERICANS Washington. Aug. 5. Mr Samuel Dickstein, in the House ot Representatives to-day, said American citizens were being molested and pushed around bv the Japanese authorities at Shanghai. “We are letting the Japanese here alone and I for one think we are being too easy on them.” he said. —U.P.A.
