WAR PROPAGANDA INQUIRY
Washington, Aug., 6. Senator Wheeler to-day appointed a sub-committee to the Senate Inter- 1 State Commerce Committee to consider j a request by Senators Nye and Clark for an investigation of war propaganda by motion pictures and radio. The Senate rejected by 50 votes to 27 Senator Taft’s proposal to limit the i extension of army service to six months | beyond the original year. It is now believed that an 18 months’ extension j will be adopted.—U.P.A.
