ARBOR DAY AT AUCKLAND
TREE PLANTING AT BASTION POINT MEMORIAL TO FIRST LABOUR PRIME MINISTER Wellington, This Day A teature of the Arbor Day celebra lions in Auckland to-morrow will b« the.planting by citizens of an instalment of several hundred trees at the burial place at Bastion Point of New Zealand's first Labour Prime Minister, Mr Savage. With this planting will com mence the work of the constructing ol a memorial park and garden of remembrance in which is to be erected a monument to the late Prime Minister. The cost of the memorial will be borne by the New Zealand Labour Party. The memorial park and garden of remembrance comprise about 18 acres and will contain a sunken garden and children's playground.—P.A.
