MR ENDEAN OFFICIAL NATIONAL CANDIDATE STATEMENT BY MR HOLLAND Wellington, This Day. The question of the Remucra seat at the forthcoming general election was referred to last night by Mr S. G. Holland. Leader of the Opposition, in an interview. Mr Holland stated that a deadlock had been reached in Remuera and the matter had been referred to him. After consultation with various interested parties, including the Parliamentary Opposition, lie had decided that there was only one course he was able to take, and that was that Mr Endean would receive his full support and that of the Parliamentary party, thusmaking Mr Endean the official" candidate. Mr Holland explained that he had been in constant touch with Mr Alex Gordon, president of the party, who had just returned to Wellington after making a personal investigation into the matter in Auckland. Mr Gordon, said Mr Holland, was in full agreement with the statement being made by him. LABOUR CANDIDATES IN DUNEDIN Dunedin, Aug. 1. Lieutenant-Commander P. G. Connolly, who will return to New Zealand at the end of the year to take up a position in the Dominion, has been selected as the official Labour Party candidate for the Dunedin West seat, at present held by Dr. D.
