NELSON TRAMPING CLUB

TRAMP OVER WOODED PEAK Yesterday morning at 8.30 eight members of the Nelson Tramping Club met at the reservoir before setting out for a tramp over Wooded Peak under the leadership of Miss M. Liddle. The walk along the Dun Line was broken at Third House for a short rest sun, and then the next stop was o. Mineral Belt at Code’s Creek for lunch. At Windy Point the ridge to the left was taken up to the bush where discs mark an easy-grade track to the top of Wooded Peak. This track was formed and disced by the Tramping Club, and is a much easier way to Wooded Peak than the usual track. There was a perfect view from the top, and after a short rest the party ■went down the steep track to the Dun Line again, coming out near Third House. The slasher was at work over a great deal of the way, clearing undergrowth which had in many places obscured the discs and blazes. After a short stay at Third House again, a good pace was set back to the Reservoir. The next tramp will be in a fortnight’s time to Atawhai and Sharland’s Creek, when more new members will be welcomed.
