“GANGS OF CHICAGO”
“Gangs of Chicago,” starring Lloyd Nolan, Lola Lane, and Barton MacLane. is a thoroughly thrilling and entertaining drama. In “Gangs of Chicago” Nolan is depicted as Matty Burns, the ruthless coleader of a vast crime organisation. An F. 8.1. agent, hoping to destroy the organisation, asks Matty’s best friend. Bill Whitaker, to become a spy. Bill agrees because he thinks that Matty is really innocent of any guilt, and that he can find the actual criminals. He learns the truth but, before he can contact the agent, members of the combine learn v hat he is doing. Matty is then forced to decide whether he should sacrifice his friend or call in the police and incriminate himself. With John Garfield and Priscilla Lane in the co-starring roles. “Dust Be My Destiny,’ Warner Bros, have a most impressive supporting cast Included are : Frank McHugh, Henry Armetta, Alan Hale Billy Halop, Bobby Jordan and John Litel. Based on the novel by Jerome Odium, the film deals realistically with the married life of the two young ‘Nobodies” trying to find their epale in a hostile world.
