INDOOR BOWLS
UNITED FRIENDLY SOCIETY’S COMPETITION The fourth game of bowls in the United Friendly Society’s Freeman Shield competition was played in the Rechabite Hall, when members of the Loyal Nelson Lodge were the guests of the Welcome Rebekah Lodge. The evening’s play resulted in a win for the Rebekah Lodge by three games to two. The games were very evenly contested, the winner not being decided until the final game. The results were as follows (Nelson Lodge names being given first): Bros. Anderson and Ward 4 v. Sis. Gay and Simpson 2; Bros. Coleman and Weslrupp 3 v. Sis. Cotton and Wilkins 4; ! Bros. Curry and Day 4. v. Sis. Freeman and Beer 5: Bros. Simpson and \ Hitchcock 5, v. Sis. Whitwell and Robinson 3; Bros. Anderson and Hay 2, v. ! S.s. Freeman and Kotua 7.
