OLDEST LIVING RESIDENT
MRS OF WANGANUI 100 TO-DAY [United Press Association! Wanganui, This Day. Mrs Jessie Watt, the oldest living resident of Wanganui, where she has lived for sevnty years attained her hundredth birthday to-day. She was born r in Glasgow and came to New Zealand 1 in 1862. She received a congratulatory cable from His Majesty King George VI. tele- 1 grams from the Governor-General, Sir Cyril and Lady Newall, the actingPrime Minister Mr Nash and also from Mayor, City Council and citizens of ' Wanganui. She has four children, 25 grandchildren and several great grand- : children. She enjoyed the best of health 1 till an accident confined her to a nursing 1 home some months ago. 1
