NELSON SOCIAL CLUB
. FLAG 500 EVENING The attendance at the Nelson Social Club’s Flag 500 evening held in the Marina tearooms this week was not as good as usual, owing to the Competitions, the civic reception to the distinguished British Labour visitor, Mr W. Holmes, and the public address afterwards in the Nelson School of Music. However, quite an enjoyable time was spent by all present. The winners of the tournament were Mr and Mrs J. R. A. Scott, Mr and Mrs L. Scully, while the consolation prizes were carried off by Mrs W. Quayle, Miss N. O'Sullivan and Messrs T. Sheary and M. G. Barlow. A dainty supper was provided by the committee, assisted by members of St. John Ambulance Association. The next of the series will be held in a fortnight’s time.
