HOME GUARD NOTES
Enlistments for the week include: Cobb River 71. Takaka 23, Motueka 6, Nelson 5, Collingwood 18. The total for the Nelson Area is now over 2000. PROMOTIONS AND TRANSFERS Guardsman S. N. Short is appointed Acting Sergeant No. 14 Signal Platoon. Guardsman A. W. N. Frost is appointed Section Leader, Wakapuaka Platoon. Guardsman P. McCombie is transferred from No. 13 Platoon to Stoke. Guardsman F. Easter is transferred from No. 14 Signal Platoon to Stoke. Guardsman E. O. Baigent. Section Leader is transferred from No. 4 Signal Platoon to No. 11 Platoon. Guardsman V. J. Hawke, Acting Platoon Sergeant is transferred from No. 1 Platoon to Wakapuaka Platoon. Some platoons have been carrying out rifle practice at the College range to-day. Returns of Guardsmen owning rifles have not been sent in by some Platoon Commanders. Winter training will commence on Ist March, 1941. N.C.O. classes will be held at the Drill Hall, 7.30 p.m., 27th February, 1941. Subjects. “Indication and Recognition of Targets” and “Fire Orders,” Instructor, Major H. F. Allan.
