ALEXANDER Mine report of Alexander Mines Limited for the month of January:— No. 6 Intermediate East Crosscut: This crosscut was started on a fault line and followed 23 feet into the eastern wall of No. 6 Intermediate Level. Stone ranging in width from small boulders to 15in was followed but the fault has now passed underfoot and driving is suspended. Stoping:—No stoping has been carried on above No. 5 Intermediate or in the south stopes off No. 2 rise owing to a shortage of men. Stoping has been carried out above No. 6 Intermediate Level, the lode varying in width from 1 to 5 feet. 170 tons of ore was sent to battery. Gold returns of Alexander Mines, Ltd., for the month of January:— Battery Department: 56ozs 4dwts of melted gold from 167 tons crushed. Estimated value equals £430. Cyanide Department has not been cleaned up. In Addition: 3.5 tons of concentrates have been saved valued at £125. In estimating the above values, gold has been taken at 160 s per fine ounce.
