THIRD AWARD SINCE SEPTEMBER [British Official Wireless] RUGBY, 9th December. Pilot-Officer Lock. of the R.A.F. Volunteer Reserve, who has already gained the Distinguished Flying Cross with bar since September, receives the Distinguished Service Order in the latest list of R.A.F. awards. His latest exploit was to destroy two Messerschmitt 109 when in action with his squadron against superior forces, bringing his total success to 22 planes. suited from a patrol action in the Dover area, where he engaged three Heinkel 113 s, shooting one down ,and destroyed a Heinkel 126 immediately afterward. The D.F.C. is also awarded to ActingSquadron Leader D. S. McDonald, who has taken part in 81 missions against the enemy. Sergeant A. MacDowell, who has destroyed 14 aircraft, gains a bar to his D.F.M.
