PATRIOTIC FARM
PEA PICKING COMPLETED As a result of the splendid response to the appeal for pea pickers on the Patriotic Farm at Hope, the picking of the second crop of peas was completed to-day and consequently no pickers will be required for to-morrow. Mr A. H. Crawley chairman of the City Patriotic Committee, to-day expressed his appreciation of the wholehearted support and keenness of the willing bands of voluntary helpers who have gone out to Hope find done their bit to help along this splendid patriotic effort- There were also a number of residents in the district who had given their time in helping while the whole of the operations had been under the personal supervision of Mr J. L. Pugh, chairman of the Appleby Committee. It is expected that the third and final crop of peas will be ready for picking during the first week in January.
