BRITAIN’S ECONOMY
ADAPTATION TO CHANGING CONDITIONS [U.P.A.-By Electric Telegraph-Copyright] LONDON, Bth December. A statement addressed to the Argentine Chamber of Commerce, on behalf of Lord Willingdon, leadei cf the British Economic Mission to South America says that never before has the economy of Britain been so well planned and so adaptable to changing conditions. “Never again.” the statement adds, “will Britain revert to rigid methods of pre-war days. Keen competition is good, but it needs to be directed by co-operation, and above all, co-opera-tion between nations. Such co-opera-tion is the one hope for the future. Meanwhile. Britain is unshakably confident because of two things: first, the flow of planes and ships from British and American factories which nothing can stop: and second, the unconquerable spirit of the British people.”
