A. AND P. ASSOCIATION MEETING OF COMMITTEE SUPPORT FOR MARLBOROUGH SHOW SOUGHT • | The secretary of the Marlborough A. ;! and P. Association wrote to the monthly ! meeting of the Nelson A. and P AssoI ciation held last evening pointing out the difference between the support acl j corded the Nelson show by the Marli borough exhibitors and visitors, and I that given to the Marlborough fixture I by Nelson exhibitors and visitors. The writer asked if there could not be some measure of reciprocity between the two associations in the matter of entries for their respective shows, and if the Nelson Association had any suggestions to offer on the matter. After some discussion it was resolved that the association keep the matter in view, and that every effort be made to increase the support from Nelson exhibitors and visitors. Martin, F. R. Berryman, J. L. Borlace, J. Hildyard, A. G. Griffin, D. S. Max, R. H. Hammond, A. Croucher and C. R. ! Sutton. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs J. G. Ingram, G. Manson, P. C. Hurst, L. A. Higgins, N. L. Kerr, G. L. Mead and A. N. Wilkinson. MOTIONS OF SYMPATHY Prior to commenjing the business the president referred to the death of Mr J as. Hunt, who had been a member of the association for over 40 years, and of Mr R. J. L. York, Mayor of Motueka, who was also a member of the association He moved that lettei's of sympathy be forwarded to the relatives, also to Mr Rogers, a member of the committee in his recent bereavement. The motion was carried in the usual manner. New members were elected as follows: Mrs H. Goulter (Blenheim), J. C] Hickmott (Aorere), H. Cowdray (Brightwater). CORRESPONDENCE j Mrs Jas. Atkins and family thanked the association for its message of sympa thy. J The secretary of the Nelson Patriotic ; Controlling Committee wrote thanking j the association for allowing the sale of j tickets at the grounds on Show Day. | The secretary of the Nelson Mental j Hospital thanked the association for al- , lowing patients to attend the show on ; both Friday and Saturday, i A letter is to be written to the Nel- ! son City Council thanking them for the ; extensive mowing of grass carried out | on the show ground at a most moderate j price. PRIZE MONEY It was resolved that prize money be paid out on Wednesday. 18th December, in Nelson, and on Thursday, 19th De- . cember. and Friday. 20th December, in Richmond. The secretary reported that two exr hibitors had already made donations to the association of the amount of prize i money they had won, less the entry fees i involved. He considered this a very fine gesture. The report was received with pleaI sure by the committee. THE RECENT SHOW | The secretary read an interim report ! and balance sheet for the recent show. This showed that after allowing for all contingencies there would be a small credit balance as a result of the year’s operations. It was resolved that letters be forwarded to Messrs J. H. Mead. Phil Gibbs and Lou Moore for their work i in connection with the sheep dog trials on show day. | Mr Max pointed out the great amount : of work carried out at the show by Miss | Duncan the secretary’s assistant. It was ! resolved that £2 2s be paid to Miss Duncan as an appreciation of her serMention was also made of the valuable work carried out at the loud speaker by Mi' W. Gould. Members expressed the opinion that the service given by Mr Gould was excellent.
