NOBLE-ADAMS SHIELD NELSON RETAINS TROPHY The vagaries of the weather nearly upset the playing of the Noble Adams Snield match between the Nelson and Marlborough Bowling centres on Satur- ) day j At 8 o'clock the local headquarters ; decided that the match be postponed owing to the rain All distant clubs were advised by telephone, and a message sent through to Blenheim. However, at noon it was announced that Marlborough's twelve rinks had come j to Nelson A hasty arrangement was j then made that the match should be j played, and all on the Nelson green. I The distant clubs were again contactj eu and all succeeded in getting to Nel- | son except the Takaka rink, who had I returned after getting as far as Riwaka. Mr H E Stephens, vice-president of ! t e Nelson Club, welcomed the visitors j and hoped that Marlborough would be i successful in winning the Shield, which !
