INTERCESSION
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (I John i, 8-9.) Eternal God, in our need w*e turn to Thee for aid. Forgive us that in days of prosperity and ease we have not always sought Thy mind, we have not always done Thy will. Grant us true penitence and humility, an earnest desire to serve Thy purposes and a stern determination to yield ourselves to Thy command: so deliver us from our enemies and from all evil. In happier days keep us faithful to the highest, that our chiefest joy may be ever in Thy service. Amen.
