PRAYER

Father, in this hour of our testing, we pray that when our trials are hardest, Thou. O God, may with us be greatest. Lest we abandon ourselves to tides of anger, fear or sorrow, come upon us, that in the times when we are not masters of our earthly fate we | may possess our souls in Thee. Give us the light and strength of Thy presence that we may walk erect in the authority of faith, hope and charity through this horror of darkness that has fallen upon the hopes and destinies of mankind. Grant that we not grow weary nor despair in waiting for Thee, and stand with us that the dread of the night may not kill our hope of the dawn. Help us manfully to share the pain of our brethren, lead us to seek Thy peace in the hopeful service of a better day for men, and in swift and brotherly compassion for others. Make us to-day strong according to conscience, that we may be valiant for truth and right, faithful to believe that whether we live or die, the truth that is in us shall not perish, but shall be added to the working of Thy Spirit among men. In His Name who triumphed from the Cross, Jesus Christ our Lord. —“Australian Intercollegian.”
