CONCENTRATED AT HAINAN
Japanese transports SOME MET GOING SOUTHWARD FREIGHTER CAPTAIN’S REPORT [U.P.A.-By Electric Telegraph-CopyrtfhtJ Received 6th Dec., 1.30 p.m. HANOI, 3th December. A freighter captain arriving at Haiphong reported he had sighted a number of Japanese transports steaming southward south of Hainan Island. A Shanghai foreign military official has received reports that the largest number of Japanese transports seen so far has concentrated at Hainan in the past few days, capable of carrying a large expeditionary force. Presumably the freighter captain’s report refers to part of the same concentration. A Kunming message states that Japanese planes bombed Chihtsun station, . wounding a number of Chinese civilians, also two of the French railroad staff.
